What exactly is coaching?

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaches believe every client is creative, resourceful, and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach’s responsibility is to:

• Discover, clarify, and align with that the client wants to achieve

• Encourage client self-discovery

• Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies

• Hold the client responsible and accountable

This process helps clients dramatically improve their outlook on work and life while improving their leadership skills and unlocking their potential.”

How do I know if I need a coach?

If you are looking to grow as a leader, if you’re feeling stuck in your personal or professional life, if you are trying to make a big decision, or if your life is out of balance – a coach can help.

Can I engage you for both executive and personal coaching?

Yes! Most executive coaching engagements involve some personal coaching as well. I coach the whole person because it is difficult to reach our most ambitious goals when we have a narrow lens on what’s happening in our lives.  

How does a coaching relationship work?

Things typically begin with a complimentary 30-minute consultation; contact me now to schedule yours today. Once we decide to work together, we will schedule a 90-minute “discovery session” to discuss what is happening in your life, your priorities, and what you are hoping to get out of coaching. From there, we will meet twice a month for 60 minutes, with a couple of emails in between sessions. Sessions take place via phone or videoconference.

How long will we work together?

The length of a coaching engagement varies from person to person, but typically, I meet with clients a couple of times a month for three to six months. Depending on your goals, we may together decide that it is beneficial to meet for a longer period of time.
